Can I use a All in One PC's HDR capabilities if I use it as a monitor C24-1700-UA91

For my first pc (i used to use laptop), I got an AIO (all in one). I now have bought a better pc, that is not an AIO. My other external monitor doesn't have HDR, and this one does. However, I cannot seem to access it using an external pc. Is it possible to use the HDR capabilities of the AIO as a monitor?

AIO: C24-1700-UA91 (with HDMI in)

Graphics Card: Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060 TI

I don't see any specs that say it can… :( The only specs I see don't even show an HDMI-In port, only HDMI-Out.

Oh! I did get the model wrong! Here is the correct one that DOES have hdmi out! Is it possible or will it still not work? https://www.acer.com/us-en/desktops-and-all-in-ones/aspire-all-in-ones/aspire-c24/pdp/DQ.BGRAA.001

  • This model does not allow video input either:

    All the best.

That is definietly not the right model. The model you just sent is a 1650 while the one I sent was a 1651. My model has an hdmi in (the 1651)

  • Sorry, is the port 8: HDMI in

    All the best.

Yes, that is the right port!

  • In that case it admits the input of a video signal, have you been able to test it yet?

    All the best.

Yes, it works as a monitor. When I look in hdr settings however, it says hdr is not supported (when using the AIO normally it is supported). I am wondering if it is the HDMI cable?

  • Yeah. Sorry, figuring out the issue of HDMI In has diverted us from the original problem about HDR.
I couldn't tell you if there is an incompatibility, but make sure that the HDMI cable supports 2.1

    All the best.

Acer doesn't specify that the HDMI-In port supports HDR, so it likely does not.
