Slow Performance (severe fps drops while plugged in) after the new bios update v1.1 Nitro 5 AN515-45

Hello guys, I own a Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45, recently I had this issue where my laptop wont charge until my charging cable was put a particular angle and such , I thought it was my charging port issue and took my laptop to nearby acer store for checkup , they have found out that the issue was the charger , so i bought a new charger (180W) and the laptop is charging proper now.

During this time, I have updated my acer bios to v1.1 from v1.0 , and since then I have seen that the performance dropped dramatically ( 150+ fps in valorant to 30-40 fps while being plugged in and 90-100 on battery ) . The laptop is somewhat performing better on battery than while plugged in .

I tried resetting the bios , but the laptop would switch off automatically while trying to set to default bios , and now when i do a simple restart pc , the laptop doesnt boot up , it straight up switches off.

My query is , is the issue due to latest bios update ? or due to my hardware issues ? Please shed ur thoughts and light on it .

I tried reverting back to bios v1.0 but windows wont let me.

Describe EXACTLY the procedure you used to reset the updated BIOS.

My bad if I framed resetting bios wrongly , I did the default bios load by going into the bios menu , pressed f9 to select the default bios and pressed 10 to save and load it. But that did not do anything at all , but what ive observed was whenever i attempt to load the default bios in the bios screen , even before i press f10 the laptop shuts down most of the times. Hope this gives you a better idea.

The Acer Nitro AN515-45 does NOT have a bios version 1.0 or 1.1 on the AN515-45 Acer Drivers & Manuals page, the bios versions start at version 1.03, where did you get bios version 1.1 from? You need to install the last bios for the Nitro AN515-45 the BIOS Version 1.11 -
1. Update PI FP6_1.0.0.C. 2. Support OS May 23 CI security and also the Firmware version v102a - Update Nvidia discrete VGA VBIOS and improve performance. As after you install both of these firmware and bios versions and update windows, AMD and NVidia updates your laptop should work 100%

Does an Acer boot logo still appear before it shuts off?

My laptop had a blue screen because when I updated the drivers, it tried to restart and every time it restarted, the blue screen was still displayed. the error shown is STOP CODE: DRIVER_PNP_WATCHDOG. What can I do This?

yes it does show as if its about to switch on and then it goes off.

I am sorry, I meant to say v 1.11 itself, I did update the Update PI FP6_1.0.0.C. 2. Support OS May 23 CI security one, but I did not do the firmware update, will do that right away. Thanks

Likely means the BIOS is OK. Try this. Start rapidly tapping the F2 key. While still tapping the F2 key, short press the power button to turn the machine on. Does the BIOS menu now appear without shutting off?

hello , so i tried this and weird things started happening, after the bios menu got displayed, i went on to boot windows , and it never did , the laptop keeps on switching off , after the acer logo , i thought i ended up with a bricked laptop , I tried to switch on the laptop after 10-15 min , the windows finally boots up , but then the boot time is dramatically increased now , from 2.8sec ( pre v1.11 bios install and windows updates) to 4-5 minutes now. I still cannot figure out what exactly the issue is ?

Likely means the BIOS default setup for the boot drive mode incorrect.

So re-enter the BIOS menu exactly the same way as above. Then post phone photos of BIOS Information and Main tabs if possible.

Heyy , sorry for the late reply ( i went to my hometown) , so i did this and took a pic of the bios menu and another weird thing happened , I was taking photo of the menu and the laptop switches off randomly while on the bios menu , i tried this multiple times and the laptop switches off .

I enter this menu by pressing f2 repeatedly and to load default bios i press f9 and f10.

Not good. Might be damaged battery pack.

(1) With laptop off, does battery charge indicator light ever turn steady blue?

(2) Was Crucial SSD factory installed?

with the laptop off , the laptop indicator light is always steady blue(when its plugged in ofc).
I honestly dont know what crucial ssd factory is , or if it was installed. Is it crucial's own ssd monitoring software or something ?
