Keyboard keys on Acer SF 314-59 laptop not working after cleaning with alcohol wipe

Following an expert's advice, I rebooted laptop, and I uninstalled the keyboard driver but several keys (U, I, O, P, 0(zero), J, K, L, semicolon, period, ?/ ) are still not working properly.

He says I may well need to replace the keyboard.

How much would this cost?

You just have the NumLk on, causing those keys to give a number or cursor movement instead of the correct letter. On my laptop the NumLk key is Fn-F12, I believe it's the same on yours.

Sounds like there some gunk behind the keys, making it hard to have the keypress be recognized…

Thank you for the suggestion, Commodore.

I'll pass it on to the tech person.

Thanks, Billsey. I like your answer, but here's the problem:

When I press Fn and F12, the problem keys work properly, but only while I keep pressing on the two keys.

When I release the two keys, the keys in question do not work right.

How to keep Fn and F12 pressed?

Actually. Change that Like to YES it answered my question.

I pressed and massaged the Fn and NumLk buttons for a few seconds and the problem went away.

    Thank you, Billsey
