Open Device Manager. Do you see any red or yellow device driver warnings?

What is your full model number? For example, A515-54? Or Aspire 5472G?

Universal serial bus controllers Unknown usb device is the only one that shows an issue says device descriptor request failed. ASPIRE E15 E5-576G-5762

So when I unzip it asks to remove or to repair. I chose repair and it didnt fix the camera issue. It still doesnt show the camera at all in the device manager.

Something's wrong with your download. The zipfile seems to be corrupted. You should not get any error messages except for a message that asks what folder you want to extract it to.

So download it again. Unzip it again. The extracted file has a Win10 folder with .INF driver information files in it. Then you open Device Manager. and right click on the unknown USB device. Choose update driver from this computer. Then you browse the extracted Win10 folder till it finds the INF files and updates the driver.

Okay so I tried that. Now it says device descriptor request failed that the best driver for your device is already installed there may be better drivers on Windows update or on hte device manufacturers website. It might be because I am now running Windows 11. By the way thank you so much for the insight.

I am now running Windows 11

Yes, sorry, Win11 is neither fully compatible with nor functional on the E5-576G. This may change in the future. But until this Win11 compatibility link includes this model and this driver link updated for Win11, it will likely remain inoperable if you want to keep Win11.

Since we Acer users have no way of knowing when or even if these changes will occur, you just have to keep checking the links for Win11 updates like the rest of us with Win11-incompatible machines. Meanwhile, you can try to run 3rd party device driver tools like DriverBooster freeware to see if they can pick up any updated drivers on line that might work. Some users have reported success. Most however haven't.
