Acer Aspire 5 Model N20C5 Internet connection temporarily disconnects.

Every time I temporarily connect to a different network and the return to my usual home network I automatically connect to my wifi but don't have connection to the internet. I have to do a 'network reset' and that solves the problem every time. Why should I have to keep doing this? I use the other network once a week and this happens every time I return home.

    Hello @Steve_64,

Release 3.3.0.760 is one of the first versions of MTK available that had these problems with drops and intermittent disconnections.

Download the .CAB above, extract its contents to a temporary folder and then manually update your MediaTek Wi-FI 6 MT7921 WLAN device under Device Manager (devmgmt.msc) pointing to the location where you unzipped this file.

    Have a nice weekend! 😉

    Hi @Steve_64,

Try updating the MT7921 wireless controller driver with latest version 3.3.0.852 available from Microsoft Catalog:

    MediaTek, Inc. - Net - 3.3.0.852 (10/08/2023 12,8 MB)

I use this same MT7921 wireless card here, and with this driver I have had the best experience so far. I also noticed that Miracast support has improved.

If disconnection/dropping issues persist, try setting the "Aggressive roaming" in Advanced tab properties to "1. Disabled".

Tried to update driver - it says I'm up to date with 3.3.0.760, don't know how to change that. I'm on Windows 11 and there is no aggressive roaming option in properties

Brilliant! Thanks very much, loading the new driver has solved the problem. Didn't need to change aggressive roaming which does now appear in properties.☺️👍️
