Can somebody confirm whether Predator Helios 18 is brand new or used, and questions on artifacting

Hello,

I recently bought a Predator Helios 18 laptop (4080 model). I have had a few issues with screen artifacts, but only when on battery power. Yesterday on boot up there was a small square that was grey in colour and flickering, it only filled a fraction of the actual screen. This was again on battery power.

Also, upon looking at the event viewer, I noticed several logs dated back to the 9th of June. Now I only started using my laptop on the 12th of this month. Does this mean I got sold an open box/refurbed unit instead of brand new?

And can anyone help shed some light on the artifacting? I did notice that by default the laptop was choosing the igpu, which also caused aritfacting in game, however upon changing it to the 4080 that has now stopped. I just want to know that I haven't likely got a laptop with faulty V ram etc.

My serial number can also be provided if that's of help also.

    Click the "Register a product" link under "support" at the bottom of this page. If you can register the product by entering the Serial Number ID (SNID), then it is likely new, not used.

    If you think that the machine has hardware issues, then arrange for in-warranty service by clicking on the "Contact Support" link also under "support' at the bottom of this page again using your SNID.
