I plan to upgrade my laptop with a bigger SSD drive. How many M2 ports it has? What type of SSD I can use? Only M2. 2280 Sata 3? What is the maximum size of SSD it can handle?

Thanks.

    Hi,

You can use either a M.2 NVMe SSD(PCIe 3x4) or a M.2 SATA SSD up to 512GB, you may be able to use a larger M.2 SSD but I haven't seen anyone installed a 1TB M.2 SSD in your model, so you may have to try at your own risk.

There should be no issue with the size of the drive, I'd suggest a 1TB NVMe x4 drive, but a 2TB will work as well. The pricing on those sizes seem to be the lowest per GB, so most cost effective. Currently I believe the largest drive you can get in that form factor is 8TB, but that's going to be overkill for your laptop, as well as pretty expensive. You should also pick up an NVMe external case, so you can clone your existing drive to the new one before installing it.
