Hi! New here. How to know if my lappy's been compromised still? I factory reset just in case.

I unfortunately clicked on a suspicious email and despite not putting in any credentials and whatsoever, I apparently got a trojan (according to malwarebytes) It was quarantined and I factory reset my laptop just in case. But I dont know for sure.

Thanks in advance to those who'd answer.

Don't use 3rd-party AV programs in Windows, exclusively use Windows Defender with all security options enabled and display the green ticks. You cannot disable Defender in Windows and malware bytes etc., may flag false alarms and delete system files that can brick your laptop. Uninstall all your 3rd-party software and run the following commands as Administrator:
Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press Enter this should complete successfully, rerun the command if it hangs.

Then in the same Command Prompt paste this line: SFC /scannow that will check and repair the system files, if it cannot replace a system file rerun the SFC command till you see "Found no integrity violations". Check if Windows Defender has all security options enabled, have green check marks. and do a complete full scan (will take long).

Run Storage Sense to clean up the system, click on the Temporary bin at the left bottom of Storage Sense window and delete all old update remnants.
