After I mute the volume, it seems to randomly increase to full volume. The time I noticed it was when I flipped the keyboard back to use in portrait for a game. And the volume slider wouldn't stay off. I read a previous post about a similar issue and the user returned his laptop for a new one but I don't have that choice. Any ideas?

Thanks.

What model do you actually have? Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. Yours will start with a SP if it's a normal Spin and CP if it's a Chromebook, I believe. They are very different internally… Any chance one of the keys is stuck down?

It's a Chromebook - CP714-2W-56B2. I thought about a key sticking and maybe when I turned it all the way around, it could stick but it's happened before in regular landscape/laptop mode. I'll keep an eye out for sticking - thanks! While you're at it, resizing Android apps is an issue I didn't anticipate when I bought this - none of them resize properly so that all parts are accessible on the Chromebook except in phone mode which is way too small - is there a cure? I've tried tablet mode and the resizing mode.

Yes, many Android apps assume they are running on a phone, so don't handle the aspect ratios used in laptops.
