How do I turn off Power Beep in Aspire A514-52G

There is no Realtek in my volume mixer, I don't have configuration in my BIOS settings and does not have Power Beep option either in the BIOS setting, and I do not have System Speaker to disable in device manager. I'm currently using Acer Aspire A514-52G.

The power beep noise is really loud, the only way that I know to get rid of it is to delete the Speakers (High Definition Audio Device) in device manager but that would disable my whole speaker.

    The Power Beep is an Acer feature build-in all Acer motherboards, a very useful feature for laptops alerting you of a change in your power supply that you can either ignore or take action like checking the adapter plug and wall power outlet. Disabling the Startup RTK app in Task Manager Startup tab will stop that beep on a515-54 laptops, you can try that.

    @Fasha try to lower or mute the beeping by going to the volume mixer, change the volume of the Realtek service.

    As I said before, I don't have Realtek service in my volume mixer for some reason. Usually lowering the laptop's volume would also lower the beep's volume, and using headset would move the beeping noise into my headset. But since yesterday, the beeping noise is at max volume and regardless of my laptop being connected to a headset or low on volume, the beeping noise when I plug in and out would always come out from the laptop. @AnhEZ28

    As for the Startup RTK, the closest thing I found is RtkAudService64 which when disabled doesn't remove the power beep when I plug in and out. @Puraw

    FYI, (I don't know if it's related) this problem started after I tried installing Realtek's audio driver which I downloaded from their website. The installation failed probably because the driver was for Windows 10 (I read it wrong). After that failed installation, the power beep was set on max volume and is like what I have described. I have reinstalled the audio driver from acer's website according to my laptop type (A514-52G), but the power beep's sound still can't be removed or lowered in volume.

    Is there any other possible way to remove or decrease the volume like I could before?

    Try to unplug and plug the charger back in. You should the the Realtek HD audio service shows up in the volume mixer.

    I tried to unplug and plug the charger multiple times but Realtek HD Audio Service didn't show up anywhere in volume mixer unfortunately. @AnhEZ28

    @Fasha

    Upon looking back at the post, I see that you tried to disable the High Definition Audio Device. Try to reinstall the Realtek Audio driver from the Acer support website and try the volume mixer again. Enable the RtkAudService64 in the task manager again, and it should show up in the volume mixer for you.

  • Hi @Fasha download the driver from this address?

    If correct, did you uninstall the current sound driver before?

    All the best.
