Seeking Information on External Monitor Compatibility for Acer Nitro AN515-56 Laptop

I hope you're all doing well. I have an Acer Nitro AN515-56 laptop with an NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB GPU, and I'm looking to enhance my gaming and multimedia experience by adding an external monitor. I'm seeking information from this knowledgeable community to help me determine the compatibility and requirements.

Here are the laptop specs:

Model: Acer Nitro AN515-56
Processor: 11th Gen Intel Core i5-11300H @ 3.10GHz
RAM: 16GB
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1650 4GB

My primary use for the laptop is gaming, and I want to make sure I get the best possible display experience. However, I also don't want to overspend on features that my laptop may not fully support.

Here are some aspects I'd like to consider:

External monitor panel type (e.g., IPS, TN, VA)
Maximum supported resolution
Refresh rate for gaming
HDR compatibility
Adaptive Sync (e.g., G-Sync or FreeSync)

@scorpion6689 if you want to get an external monitor, there is some information that you need to focus on the monitor that has at least HDMI 2.0 for a high refresh rate (max 240Hz @ 1080p).

The Nitro 5 AN515-56 laptops oem screen resolution of FHD 1920x1080 and refresher rate of 144Hz can be upgraded to a 165Hz refresher rate screen at PHD 1980x1080 resolution with no problems, which was the criteria that I used to buy an external monitor for this laptop. The laptop that I have is an upper spec AN515-56 than yours, but as far as an external monitor, I can't see why your i5-11300H / GTX1650 / 16GB ram can't use a similar external monitor like I'm using.

I'm using a 2-year-old Dell 27 Curved Gaming Monitor – S2722DGM (there are newer 34" of the same monitors) that the reason I bought mine was as it was on special in those days for a good price AUD $325 and it was a great monitor for my AN515-56 laptop (i7-11370H cpu / RTX3050 gpu / 32GB (2x 16GB DDR4-3200MHz CL223 type ram) and this combo has worked perfectly, btw I have the monitor set at its Native Resolution of QHD 2560 x 1440 and at a refresher rate of 165 Hz connected with a HDMI 2.0 cable to plug into this laptops right side HDMI 2.0 port - that has a Data Thoroughput of 18Gbit/s(TMDS. I use this laptop for general usage, editing and high-end gaming and it works faultlessly, Good luck and hope this will help you out.

Do I need to specifically search for monitors that are G-SYNC compatible, or is it okay to consider monitors with AMD FreeSync support? I'm in India, and it seems like most monitors here support AMD FreeSync rather than G-SYNC. I have seen your monitor its a VA Panel and have AMD FreeSync
