Acer Chromeook 15 CB15-1HT-P Touchscreen not working after replacing panel - driver update required?

I've just replaced the screen on my Acer Chromeook 15 and althugh the display is fine it no longer responds to touch. I've checked the obvious - touchscreen enabled etc. but the supplier of the new panel advise that it may be due to the new screen not being recognised by the older Chromebook and therefore requiring an update to e.g. display drivers.

Any thoughts on this please and also where can I obtain such updates?

Many thanks

Bernie

What is your full ACER model number? For example, CB515-1W?

What brand & model number screen did the supplier provide? There are often both touch and non-touch screens available from many different screen companies for the exact same ACER model number.

    Thanks Jack,

    The model number is CB15-1HT-P099

The order was for a full HD touch screen but I just took it out again to check the details on the back and it's a B156HAN04.0 - see pic. I've emailed them to suggest that maybe they sent me the wrong part as I can see that this is listed separately (and much cheaper) on their web site than the item I ordered from them.

Hopefully I'll get an answer on Monday….

    it's a B156HAN04.0

Yep. Touch part seems to begin with B156HA"K". Non-touch B156HA"N". Look for a "K". Good luck. 🙂
