Is it okay to press the battery pinhole every time I shutdown my SF314-43 laptop?

On Windows 10, every time I boot it up from a shutdown only the keyboard lights will be on and black screen on the display. I have to press the battery pinhole for it to boot up properly.

My temporary workaround was to boot into Linux first then shutdown from there. But now even on Linux it suffers the same issue.

Is it okay to press the battery pinhole every time after shutting down the laptop? Will it not damage the ssd?

It could easily cause issues with the drive, since it might leave open files that haven't been written fully. Same thing with a long press of the power button to force a shutdown without allowing apps and drivers to close properly. In both cases, however, the risk is fairly low. If you let it sit for a bit before turning it off with either forced power down method the chances are very good that disk activity will have completed. I'd be a lot more comfortable if it were my system to find out why a shutdown doesn't actually shut down cleanly…
