Hello,

I am trying to add some extra life to the laptop. I already upped the ram to 32gb, added 512gb sata SSD, and I am pondering whether to change the internal 2td hdd to a 4tb Seagate IronWolf ST4000VN006 or a Samsung EVO 4tb.

My question is:

Would the laptop recognize it? Or is it limited to the 2tb hdd limit, which in this case, I could swap the included drive for a sata SSD..

Thank you for your time.

Juan

@Manholoz it should be able to recognize the 4TB HDD but won't fit inside the laptop because of the thickness. Instead, you can switch to a 4TB SSD, it will work perfectly.

Thank you AnhEz28. AFAI the model of the HDD I was quoting is a 2.5in model, but you're right, I'll double check before I take the plunge. Or just go for the SSD, it should be much faster than the mechanical drive anyway.

    Cheers,

@Manholoz the highest capacity of the 2.5inch 7mm HDD is 2TB.
