Predator PO5-650? Case fan installation some kind of splitter?

Hi,

has anyone installed fans like Noctua 140 x 140 x 25mm NF-A14 PWM/Noctua 120 x 120 x 25 NF-S12A PWM in the front and back of Predator PO5-650? I was wondering how the installation goes since now I can only see that only one of the 4-pin slots is used (sys fan), so are all 3 (2 front 140mm and 1 back 120mm) connected from that one slot with some kind of splitter?

Also if I would install some extra fans on top of the case should I just connect them to separate fan slot that motherboard has (sys fan 2-1 and sys fan 2-2)?

i have a PO5-640 and it should be the same as yours. i have 6 fan power 4 pin connectors. the front 140mm are on the bottom of the MB and the other 4 connectors are to the right of the 4 ARGB headers near the top of the MB. in stock form we have 2 open ones available. so, when i added my new Noctua NH-U12A dual fan tower cooler those are connected to the original port 4 that the stock CPU fan was in using the supplied y-splitter Noctua supplies with the cooler. then i added 2 new fans to the top rack they go in the dual slots numbered 3-sys fan 2-1 and sys fan 2-2- and that's about it. if ya need more help ask away.

Thx, this helps a lot. Is there any picture or manual where all the slots that the MB has are explained? I have not found a manual where the MB would be shown fully.

Actually found image from the forum explaining the MB slots. Looks like those front fan connectors are well hidden under the GPU since cant see them from the side panel.

well at the top way above the GPU are the connectors. unless your GPU is mounted different than mine, mines horizonal and blocks none of the power fan connectors or ARGB ones they are number 6. the only open ones are number 3 ones in the diagram that is where i have my 2 upper fans connected to, they are controlled by the front fans in PS. 2 is the rear fan, 4 is the CPU fan and 17 is the 2 front fans even Tho it's labeled with the wrong text in that image lol. acer missed that one its 17 not 16 both are labeled wrong.

Yes I was thinking that 16 is for the front fans and so it would be blocked by the GPU :D
But it looks like if they are 17 then it should be possible to install the front fans without taking anything out. Btw. there is tape in front of those 17 connectors for some reason. I wonder why :D

yeah, that's odd, is your GPU in the bottom slot instead of the upper one? or is it a vertical mount? mine isn't blocking either but i have a smaller 3070 card. what did yours come with? and yeah, they use that tape on all the wires on my MB. i don't think it's anything special and it doesn't stick well either lol.

I have RTX 4080 and yeah its located on the upper one. Here is picture. Have not installed any new fans yet and this setup is how I got it.

does the 4080 have 2 or 3 fans on the bottom? and is that the stock ddr5? and where did you get it from? yeah, it looks nice and new and clean. i wish i would have waited another 2 years ha-ha you guys have much better options than when i bought mine. but who would have known heh.

It came with 2x8gb AData memory and I replaced it with Kingston 32GB (2 x 16GB) Fury Beast DDR5 which Has XMP support. Other specs are CPU is Intel® Core i7-13700F and GPU NVIDIA® GeForce® RTX 4080. RTX 4080 has 3 fans cooling it down.

yeah, that's awesome mine came with Samsung ddr5 so i swapped that out for crucial 4800 and i have 4x16. and i was asking about the fans because that 4080 looks about same length as my 3070 and it came with 2 fans. that's an awesome pc and once you add the new cooler and 2 fans on the top rack it should run a lot cooler. i love running mine with all the panel off by doing that it dropped the temps another 12C on average heh. and i get minimal dust but i clean it weekly with a datavac blower made for computers. and i keep up off the ground that's key.

I switched the fan on the back to Noctua NF-S12A and I noticed that there is no option for ARGB. So I guess those wont be available with Noctua, not that I need that . I was also wondering since this Noctua is 1200rpm is it not possible to control the speed on PredatorSense? It doesn't matter if I use the Custom 60% or 100% its always the same RPM around 1250. On the Auto setting it does go down to around 600rpm.

Next I'm replacing the front fans with Noctua NF-14A's and I'm wondering if the speed on those can be controlled at all with PredatorSense and if not is there any other solutions to control speeds of the fans except BIOS.

That board layout isn't right for the PO5-650. Here is the correct one:

I believe you can use free program called Fan Control with almost any aftermarket fans. I've been using it for a couple of few years now (GPU and case fans, water pump). It will allow you to create custom curves etc.

I tried to install this one but it only detects GPU fans. I already did the Assisted setup second time and same thing. Is there some other settings I need to go thru to get case fans shown?

Noctua has no argb on any of their fans. and to change speeds with a Noctua you have you use the single cable supplied with them that allows us to control the variable speed otherwise it runs full speed 24/7. and i have tested them all no other fan control or lighting control program works with our MB. and also keep in mind when you add upper fans as exhaust only, they go in the dual port 3 and those are controlled by the front fans.

Are you still using PredatorSense? If you are, maybe it is blocking Fan Control from working properly? There might be some fan settings in the BIOS as well that might be worth a look.

Try to disable PS for a while and restart. If Fan Control works now and you are planning to keep using PS, then we must figure your a way to make them work together.

ADDITION: Do not uninstall PredatorS because some have had problems reinstalling it. Just disable it for now and see if FC works.

Not sure how to disable it as there is no option in the software. I don't se PredatorSense on Startup Apps so cant disable it from there either. I tried did reboot and noticed that there are some PS processes running so somehow those automatically start on startup.

Found this from Reddit. Not sure if it still works, because the post is already 2 years old:

"If you want to stop the Predator Sense application from running at start up all together you have to do two things:

Go to Services > Predator Service > right click Properties > change startup type to "Disabled"

Go to Task Scheduler > Task Scheduler Library > disable PredatorSense and PredatorSense UI"

I did manage to disable those (there was no PredatorSense UI at Task Scheduler) and rebooted system. There are no PS processes now but still the Fan Control software only finds my GPU fans when I do the Assisted Setup.

yeah, as i said before NOTHING works with our MB lol. the control you're asking about it achieved using the supplied cables from Noctua the PWM cable will control the rpms. now that's assuming you got the model that comes with that cable also. but Noctua fans are so quiet i used to run mine at full blast 2000 rpms and i could not hear them at all.
