So I have a PH315-54 and it comes with a 1TB HDD in the 2.5" slot, I got a 4TB SSD from crucial to upgrade it because it said it is compatible with this laptop in the crucial website, it is the Crucial MX500 4TB 2.5" SSD, with Firmware: M3CR046, I tried the SSD on another laptop with a USB to SATA adapter, and it worked just fine, but when I replace the HDD on my predator with the SSD, it won't start. my thoughts are that its thinking it should boot from the new SSD instead of the already existing 1TB SSD where windows is installed, so I tried to change priorities in the BIOS, but it only lets me pick Windows Boot Manager as a booting option, and I can only boot up or access the BIOS if either the secondary HDD or nothing is connected to the SATA port. So at this point I don't know if it may be a compatibility issue or something else….? I updated the BIOS to the latest version V1.15. I also upgraded the ram to 2 Crucial 16GBs and that worked fine. Help please, I'm out of ideas.
