Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43R1JE BIOS problem or RAM problem? problem is when the laptop goes to sleep

I attempted to install two 8GB 2666MHz Kingston RAM sticks to upgrade from the original configuration of two Kingston 4GB 2666MHz sticks. Unfortunately, after confirming that the upgraded RAM was defective (as I couldn't access the BIOS), I made the mistake of not removing the laptop's battery before replacing the RAM. Now, I'm experiencing several issues, including hanging during boot. Additionally, it also hangs when restarting and goes to diagnosing PC and after sleep mode. I did discover a temporary fix by navigating to the BIOS before boot and pressing F9 to save the configuration, followed by saving and exiting. This resolves the issue temporarily, but the problem reoccurs when the laptop goes to sleep, causing it to hang again when I attempt to log in.

Is this a desktop or laptop, and what model?

If a desktop, you may need to manually clear the CMOS on the motherboard before changing RAM.

Some laptops do this automatically. Otherwise need to follow instructions.

Also do you need to update BIOS? Booting and sleep issues relate to BIOS or chipset software.

Startup repair in recovery might help, but it sounds like BIOS issue.

Are you now using the old RAM, or the new RAM?

Try this first… there are some boot files in the temp files that may be old now, causing conflict…

Clear your Temp folders. Conflicts here can affect a lot of things. Good to do it anyway.

So type in search….%TEMP% - CTRL + A [selects all] - Shift + Delete [Bypasses Recycle Bin] - skip anything it wants to keep

Do same for TEMP, and PREFETCH [click 'continue' for PREFETCH access]

Replace the new RAM with the original two Kingston 4GB modules and see if the problem persists. If no change I recommend to bring the laptop to Acer Service in your country to check the MOBO and reprogram EEPROM/BIOS.

Hi @AkiraaaTokita can you please indicate the exact model of the computer and the version of Windows?

Removing the battery without the memory modules should not cause problems, but they commented that the modules were defective, should I change those modules for new ones or are they the same ones?

I think the problem is the memory modules, make sure if they have changed the modules for new ones, that are also compatible, to be sure, go to the following Kingston address and look for the compatible modules by writing their exact model:

I have a laptop, the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-43R1JE. I've already purchased a new RAM module, but I'm still experiencing the same issue. This suggests that the old RAM isn't damaged due to the unexpected removal of the battery. Could this problem be related to the CMOS or BIOS? It seems like the laptop is having difficulty loading the saved configuration because it resolves itself whenever I access the BIOS, save the configuration, and then restart the computer.
