What drive does yours have? Typically that error is due to an issue with the drive…

Check the SSD boot drive for errors with the Command Prompt: chkdsk C: /f

Open the Command Prompt as administrator (right click) and try again. It may schedule the job for a reboot.

  • Could be that the M.2 SSD is faulty, check the drive and change it asap, as if the drive works intermittently, it means that the M.2 SSD drive is faulty and its on its way out and will crash, recover all the data from it and clone the drive to a new drive.

Acer fits the following M.2 SSD drives to the Swift SF314-57 laptop:

Will it fit any M.2 SSD or just those in the list?

Try f2 while turning on your laptop. It will go to bios. On the info menu - check the hdd0, hdd1 name and model. If it says none then your hdd is not recognizied by motherboard. It will not load your windows. It will show no bootable device.

You might have to open the computer, reseat the hdd, memory and other parts. Try to tighten, reseat the internal components. There might be a small loose connection between components. Connect all the parts back, close the back door. Try to start the computer. It will work properly.

In that case you may have a physical problem, to verify it, please start an installation from a USB with your version of Windows, you can create it from the Microsoft download page with your own tool:

On the next screen, select "repair your computer":

  • I suggest you disable fast startup in power options and then check whether the problem persists or not. Also check SSD health with crystaldiskinfo.

Have you run the chkdsk command in an elevated command prompt yet? If it's just corrupted and not failing that should help fix it. Likely though the drive is in the process of failing and will need to be replaced.

Yeah, you either have a very corrupted Windows image or the drive is acting up, most likely the drive. Have you ever had the drive out? Did you get it solidly mounted back in with the screw holding the board in place? Anything that might cause the connection on the M.2 slot to be loose could cause the issue. More likely though the drive is just bad. Your system uses an NVMe x4 drive in that slot and you aren't limited to the sizes or manufacturers shipped with the units. If it were me I'd replace it with a 1TB drive from one of the major manufacturers. The price point on the 1TB sizes is pretty good. You will likely need to do a vanilla Windows install then reinstall Acer specific utilities since cloning a corrupt drive will give you a corrupt image.
