hello ! I am new on this forum and I don't know if my problem was posted in a previous topic ( sorry ). I have bought an acer aspire 5755g on july 2012. I have a BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG problem with cooling system. When I play a game ( minimum requirements - Counter-Strike ), the CPU heats to 90 C and GPU to 60-70 C. I don't know what can I do ! It heats very fast ! The cooling system is very bad.. Smiley Sad(

My laptop configuration is:
- CPU: Intel Core i7 2670QM

- GPU: Nvidia GeForce 540M 2GB

- RAM: 8GB DDR III

- HDD: Western Digital 750GB

I am very proud of this laptop, but the cooling system is very bad !

PS: I have a separate cooler but it doesn't help me so much Smiley Sad

PS2: I am cleaning the dust with a vacuum cleaner that blows air. I clean the laptop on every month

What can I do ? I don't want to sell this laptop and buy another one from another manufacturer.

Regards,

appz

I have the same computer as well as the same issue. I play Battlefield and within minutes I could darn near cook an egg on it.  I've tried multiple things as well even another laptop fan to cool it down, but did not help.  Good luck!

why someone build a laptop with this specs if the cooling fan is very small ? what was in the manufacturer head ? i upgraded from i5 to i7 and.. I am totally disappointed.

I think I solved this problem. I flashed a unlocked aspire 5755G bios. I set CPU to have 2 cores and decreased GPU frequency ( half of frequency ).

    Results:

When using simple apps: 40-50C CPU and 30-40C GPU

When playing Counter-Strike: 50-60C CPU and 40-50 GPU

I think that the results are very good. I saw that nobody from acer replied to this post.. I am totally disappointed.

This laptop is the last thing I bought from acer ! I have no words.. The laptop configuration is very good, but the support and the cooling fan is very bad.
