Windows Code Half Faded. Can I use other activation ID?

My computer completely died on me to the point that it would not accept USBs or allow access to the recovery particion. I tried a fresh install but now Windows won't recognise my activation code (possibly because it is half faded and there may be an incorrect entry). Is there a way to recover or confirm this code by contacting Acer or have I lost my copy of Microsoft?

All my other machine IDs are visible.

Thank you.

I have similar problem where I used the Recovery Discs to reinstall my OS. Now Windows is asking that I activate windows and doesn't like the OEM activation code that it placed on its own. I would try the option to type a different product key but  some of the code on the bottom of the laptop rubbed off.

I have an Acer Aspire 5532 with Windows Vista Home Premium and can provide the serial number, SNID, and the partial code at the bottom of my laptop.
