Aspire A515-57T-53VS Ram Slots and Max Ram Questions

Hi - New Here

I am looking for some tech info on a couple of laptops I am speculating on purchasing. The available tech info on Acer's web site and elsewhere is limited and sometimes conflicting. I have a couple of Win10 systems and it is time to upgrade to Win11 but they will not meet the hardware requirements. The units I am speculating on will replace those moving forward. I am a low end to moderate user, no gaming.

I am attempting to determine the number of memory expansion slots for the following model numbers, and maximum supported RAM. Also interested in anything that people know that works above that. For example, I have read that one of the units maxes out at 20GB RAM but a reputable RAM sales site states you can push it to 40GB. This would be 8 soldered in, with a 32 add-in (is 1 slot) or two 16s (if 2 slots).

The models are (and not showing up on the Acer site anymore because they may be discontinued, but being sold new out of some large store's warehouse stocks) are:

Acer Aspire 3 - 12GB RAM - 512GB SSD Storage - Windows 11 Home - Silver - (A315-58-56K7)
Acer Aspire Vero - 8GB RAM- 512GB SSD Storage - (AV15-52-50DW)
Acer Aspire 5 - 12GB - 512 SSD Storage (A515-57T-53VS)

So, number of RAM slots available and Max RAM by manufacturer or tested above that. I am hoping to invest in something that will last a few years.

This is perfect. I was not able to locate service manuals. Google fought me.

It appears the A515-57T-53VS will be the better bang for the buck with 2 slots and a max of 32 GB RAM.

Oddly some memory sales sites are advertising that model as having 8GB soldered in, and one slot for expansion. They also advertise a 32GB is possible for the slot for a max of 40GB RAM total. That's why I checked here.

You're welcome, those screenshots are from Acer's internal database service manuals, they are not available on the internet.

Regarding what you say about the memory manufacturers, I don't know if there may be any small variants of the models depending on the place of sale and manufacture.

Again Thanks. It appears this model has 2 RAM slots and can manage 16GB each. That totals out to 32GB. The RAM costs are reasonable from my regular supplier so after i get this set up to where it is working well for me I will move on the upgrade. The sale unit comes with 12 GB on board which will be a great start.

I do not do heavy stuff but recently took on some occasional work to mix down a radio show for broadcast and a once quarterly a 5 hr video meeting for a non-profit, so the bus on this should be good enough and the extra RAM will help a lot.
