Hi.
Yesterday my laptop just turned itself off. I heard a click noise and the laptop powered off in an instant. First I thought it was my house turning the electricity off because it was in the middle of a storm, and we might have gotten hit by lightning, but no such thing. Then I felt the keyboard on the laptop, and it was super hot. I waited for a bit for the laptop to cool down, then turned it on again and launched NitroSense where I - to my horror discovered that the CPU has been peaking at 91 degrees Celsius. I turned the laptop off again, waited half an hour for it to cool down, and now I notice that the CPU goes to around 88 degrees with like 50% CPU usage. This cannot be normal. It's also causing me to stutter very badly in the games I play, making gaming essentially impossible for me. I've read many forum posts and tried their solutions but nothing works. Is my CPU fried? How can I tell? The only solution I have left that I haven't tried is reapplying new thermal paste.
