    Hi,

You can update BIOS but you must take precautions listed below, still there's a tiny chance of bricking the laptop, so if you are not sure what to do if the update bricks your laptop, get professional help from a local Acer support centre, they may be able to find a reputable service centre near you, otherwise take these precautions and hope for the best:

1.Make sure the battery is fully charged and keep AC adapter connected to laptop and the mains switched on during the update process.

    2. Remove or disable any 3rd party Anti Virus program.

    3. Make sure to select a time when you expect that there won't be a power cut( you have no control over this)

    4. Try update during other members in your household are not using the Internet connection.

    5. Close all background applications, close all tabs, remove any peripherals such as printers, USB sticks and external disks.

    6. Download and extract the .zip folder, right click BIOS 135 and select Run as Admin.

    7. Once the process begins, stay away from the laptop, the laptop may go silent and dormant, don't touch any buttons on the keyboard or switch off the laptop.

    8. Wait until the laptop reboots.

    Acer aspire 515-56 Thank you.

  • Manufacturers don't usually detail updates. About the other question, there will always be a risk of blocking the computer during the update. Could you report the problem you are having with version 1.34? About updating the bios, do this:
1- charge the battery up to 100%.
    2- connect the power adapter.
    3- disable the antivirus.
4- disconnect all devices from usb ports.
5- during the bios update, do not turn off the computer.
6- connect the notebook to a nobreak, so that there is no lack of energy.
