Hello,

I recently bought a new acer Predator Helios 300 (PH317-56-76XP) but the screen had a few areas of 'hot pixels' or screen burn. So obviously unhappy with this I sent the laptop back to get the screen replaced.

I've received the laptop back and the screen now looks much better, however the predator logo on the top of the laptop lid now no longer lights up. It definitely light up before I sent it away to get repaired.

So my question is, during the screen repair did they forgot to reconnect a cable? Or is there somewhere in the BIOS, or settings, a way to switch the logo light back on?

I'd rather check before sending the laptop back for another repair job. Thanks for your help.

Thanks, I contacted Acer Support and they have asked for a Case ID for the repair. But as the laptop wasn't sent to Acer for repair I'm not sure they will be able to help.

I was hoping they would be able to tell me if the logo is lit up from the screen backlight or if it has its own electrical connection

First check if the "Display backlight control version 1.0.0.14" driver has been installed, as the Predator logo should definitely light up on the lid of your PH317-56 laptop, return the laptop to wherever it was repaired as they didn't do a proper job as they don't know the how to fix this laptop 100%, as getting the logo to light up is a basic reassembly procedure and they must have not done the job correctly. Below is the underneath of your PGH317-56 laptop and ias you can see the logo is like a window so its able to light up.
