So I was just normally using my Aspire 7 and suddenly the screen went black with a few squares on it. Tried restarting, it didn't work. Keys were backlit when it happened and i was using chrome and a few other apps. It did happen a couple of weeks ago but it got fixed by itself. Does anyone know what's the issue here or how to fix it?

Ha

After you tried the Hard Reset and Power Drain methods posted on this forum and you can boot again, use the latest version of Edge as your default browser in Windows11, if you don't see any reference to BSOD in Event Viewer and/or Reliability History (Problem Reports) it is usually a power problem: bad adapter plug, bad battery.

Don't know which Aspire 7 model you have? Have a look at this laptops eDP cables at the plug or the plug is losely plugged into the mainboard or screen, or it could be a faulty screen also.

NOTE: before you do anything with the eDP cable/plugs, make sure that you unplug the Main Battery from the mainboard first, as if you don't do this, you will cause damage to the laptop and could damage the GPU, so be warned!

Check the plug as the plug could be shorted and its data pins are damaged. If you don't know how to do this, then take your laptop to an experienced tech that fixes screen issues, as doing a hard reset will do nothing as this is a hardware issue coming from faulty components.
