LAPTOP-B8CTMVKJ Acer System Firmware 1.10 and Intel Wi-Fi device cannot start

in Swift and Spin Series

About 3 months ago I suddenly had two errors and my Wi-Fi connection would no longer work. I have tried update drivers but this hasn't helped. Any suggestions?

    None of that actually gives your model number. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like xxxxx-xxx-xxxx. Since you are posting in Swift and Spin Series, you likely have one of the Spin models, and 10th gen CPU says it's a couple of years old, but we can't guess the rest…

    Ah, so exactly the same model as I'm typing on right now. :)

    They shipped with an Intel AX201 WLAN card, so unless you have changed it somehow that should be what you still have. In Device Manager you should show something that looks like this:

    Does yours perhaps have an exclamation mark on either, or do either only show up grayed out if show hidden devices is on?

    Yes, the Intel Wi-Fi has the yellow triangle in Device Manager. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the device drivers but it does help. The Bluetooth Device is faint but does not have the yellow triangle.

    OK, so it sounds like the WLAN card has failed. The Bluetooth side isn't being recognized at all and the WiFi side is throwing an error. Luckily those cards aren't too expensive or tough to replace. If you are comfortable opening it up (something like ten screws using a small Torx screwdriver) then the card can either be the stock AX201 or the new AX211 and likely also the AX411 cards. They need to be the M.2 form factor, but I believe that's standard on all replaceable cards.

    And it turns out that the AX211 and AX411 won't work. Intel has done something with them that makes the AS211 require an 11th gen or later chipset and the AX411 a 12th gen or later. You can physically install either on a 10th gen chipset, but the drivers won't recognize them. :(
