Hi.

I have an issue on my Acer nitro 5 (ryzen 7, RTX 3060 variant) after i calibrated the battery. I noticed that the battery drained fast and also even AC adapter is plugged in, the battery still drains. Can anyone help me with this? My unit is only months old.

Thank you in advance

A Li-Ion battery does not have this "charge memory" issue of the older Ni-Cad battery and does not require "training". What you have to do with a new battery, for BIOS and Windows to register the capacity of the battery, charge to 100% then drain the battery till the laptop turns itself off (hibernate) and charge again to 100%. This is called a full charge cycle and without doing that all Windows battery stats are meaningless. Try to do that first and then make a Battery report in Windows, type this in the Command Prompt: powercfg /batteryreport

The last section of the report tells you how many hours battery life remains when charged 100%, if that is >4 hours your battery is in good shape. Don't use ACC to limit the charge to 80% and don't use any other 3rd party apps to monitor or control the battery charging as all that interferes with BIOS and MS ACPI battery control protocol that may result in power issues and that you descibe above.
