Scanlines on Screen/Screen Ghosting Effect Acer Swift 3 SF13-52-52VA

Hello

Recently, my Swift 3 has had black vertical lines across the screen that don't move and persist no matter what I do, i.e. change resolution and refresh rate, boot in safe mode. It happened during a Microsoft Teams call and I haven't found a way to stop them since. Also occurring is a whit blur that slowly accumulates on the screen and eventually makes it difficult to see anything. This goes away when turning the monitor off and then on again, but will start to accumulate again with time. This only seems to happen when the screen itself is displaying something white, i.e. a website with a white background. Any help with this issue would be appreciated.

Typically that type of artifact can be traced to the cable connection between the motherboard and screen. The cable runs beside the hinge area and gets flexed each and every time you open and close the laptop. Sometimes it's just a little corrosion building up on the contacts where the cable plugs in, typically in a humid environment, and sometimes it's internal cracks forming on the wires as they flex. If you are still in warranty, contact Acer support and they'll have you go through some diagnostics, and if those don't fix it they deal with it under warranty for you.
