I couldn't find the RAM configuration DRRx and clock(MHz) on this computer. Also, Acer says on its site that it supports a maximum of 32GB of memory. Can I achieve this for a single slot 2x32? Or is it 2x16? Also, does this device have a MUX switch? Is there a secondary M2 slot? Is there storage limitation from M2 slot? Can I use 2TB or more of storage? Thanks.

Product:Nitro AN517-55 NH.QLFEY.001

    The CPU supports up to 64GB max RAM maximum 1x 32GB per slot (2 slots). Crucial recommends 32GB Kit (2 x 16GB) DDR4-2400 SODIMM ($60): https://www.crucial.com/memory/ddr4/ct2k16g4sfd824a/ct18513828

If your laptop model is a late 2022 version, it has a MUX switch, located in the Nitrosense app. Every other model/year doesn't have MUX.

The review I posted earlier states: This model includes two M.2 PCIe x4 slots, both of which work with Gen 4 SSDs, and support RAID mode. Up to 2TB SSD will work: The NvmeSamsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB has been tested in this laptop (12 users) by Benchmark:

Keep to the Acer recommended specs for your Nitro AN517-55 NH.QLFEY.001 laptop as this laptop is NOT listed by Acer that it works with 64GB total ram SO BE VERY CAREFUL as what Crucial recommends is NOT 100% correct! This Nitro AN517-55 NH.QLFEY.001 model laptop is not specifically referenced with any service guide specs.

For all memory specs look at the memory platforms below and see which one your Nitro AN517-55 NH.QLFEY.001 complies with as imo its the System Memory of Platform (LA-L973P/LA-L974P_DDR4) tables and not the System Memory of Platform (LA-L978P_DDR5) tables.

With the MUX switch, the Nitro AN517-55 does have it so look for its switch in the NVidia software and features in this laptops eManual that is provided by Acer.

This laptops ram DIMM Slot 1 module can't be populated with just a 1x 32GB DDR4-3200MHz CL22 module, this laptop only accepts the following ram module combinations like below and ram specs type DDR4. Also, a gaming laptop operates 100% better and more responsively in dual channel mode than in single channel mode and that is why Acer recommends 2x16GB DDR4-3200 CL22 or DDR5-4800MHz type ram modules for this laptop as its max ram configuration like below:

Use the highlighted Acer suggested 16GB DDR4-3200Mhz CL22 type ram modules from either Samsung or Hynix as these will work the best and perfectly with your Acer Nitro AN517-55 as Acer has tested these ram modules.

This laptop has provisions for 2x M.2 SSD drives of the PCIe 4x4 type and they are clearly marked on the mainboard as #1 (being the boot drive M.2 SSD slot) and #2 as being the slave M.2 SSD slot (see M.2 SSD slots highlighted in caption below)

Acer fitted M.2 SSD drives for the AN517-55 laptop, but and note, the quickest tested PCIe 4x4 is the Samsung 990 Pro NVMe M.2 SSD PCIe 4x4 drive, so if you want the quickest then fit the Samsung.
