Post your laptop model (full name) and when you last replaced the battery. Check the back of the laptop if you see a small pinhole with a small battery sign next to it. Insert a pin in the pinhole till you feel it click, keep pressing the pin down for a few seconds. This resets the battery, try to boot you laptop.

yeah, first tell us about the laptop. but for now, test your laptop from another compatible power adapter, and try using it to see if the laptop charges. Sometimes, the issue may be with the adapter itself.

So your laptop is Aspire 7 A715-42G-xxxx? Windows11 and about 2 years old? I assume you made a Battery Report in Windows to see if the battery is completely dead or still has some charge, if completely dead the battery won't be able to be charged anymore. Run this in the Command Prompt: powercfg /batteryreport

If the battery still shows some charge and your laptop is no longer under warranty, you can either try to insert a pin in the small pinhole with the small battery sign at the back of your laptop, till you feel it click (micro switch), keep pressing the pin down for a few seconds and try to charge with the adapter. If still no charging do a "Hard Reset" and "Power Drain" described on this forum in the past months. Open the back of the laptop, disconnect the battery cable to the MOBO and remove the coin battery from the CMOS capsule, shorten the +/- contacts inside the CMOS capsule with a bended (opened) paperclip and put the coin battery back with the + sign up. Reseat the DDR4 RAM modules firmly in the slots and press the Power Button for a full minute to drain any residual currents on the MOBO. Reconnect the battery cable to the MOBO and close the laptop back cover. See if the battery will charge now. If still luck uninstall the 2 Microsoft battery controllers with Device Manager:

Reboot and let Windows11 reinstall the 2 drivers. If still no charging possible you have a bad battery and need to replace it.
