    @demed yes, i5-2540M is compatible with your model, no need to upgrade the BIOS. For RAM, the maximum capacity you can upgrade to is 8GB total.

     @AnhEZ28 But why?

    i5-2540M maximum maximum supported RAM is 16Gb.

  • Hey! The service manual shows this information:

    But you can test with 16gb. If it doesn't work, just return the memory to the seller.

    Hi!

    Already put i5-2540M in my poor je50_hr and 16Gb of RAM. Looks that everything fine. System identify all 16Gb of RAM. But I want to test productuvity of my system. What would you recommend for testing? And i have another one. As i know my Nvidia GeForce 610M uses RAM for graphics processes. How could i change allocated RAM size. From 1Gb to 2Gb.

    No problem, I use a translator, my English is very basic.
    It is not possible to modify the graphic memory.

    Thank you.
    All the best.

    @demed you can use UserBenchmark to test the system after the upgrade. The GPU GT610M uses the dedicated VRAM and cannot increase it.
