I have an acer nitro 5 AN515-54, with a intel i5 9300h and nvidia rtx 2060 graphics card. It was connected to an exterior monitor through hdmi cabl and after that happened both the cpu and gpu are 10-15 degrees warmer than usual while idle and battery life has ben cut short form 3:30 hours to about an hour of use. I know i can fix it by resetting the laptop to its original fabric settings but id really like to avoid that hassle if possible.

Hi @DanielFonseca1216 i don't think that a reinstallation of the system solves what you are saying, keep in mind that connecting an HDMI cable means extra power for an external device and this consumes battery, what type of monitor do you have connected?
Also make sure to use a latest generation HDMI cable and please wait for more answers that can help your question.

    Thank you.
    All the best.
