Acer nitro 5 and 515-57 whisper mode 2.0 not working

I would like to ask about the many times solved problem with Whisper mode 2.0. When will Acer enable this option in laptops more expensive than 1000 EUR? Cheaper Ntbs from other brands offer this option... My "Gaming" laptop still has it blocked. It is impossible to set it up, I spent hours and hours adjusting the Notebook to figure it out and without success. Please Acer support, someone reasonable who can help advise how to enable Whisper mode 2.0 on the graphics card. A gaming laptop that blocks FPS... I don't get it.

If you haven't done so already, go to this link for instructions on trying to enable it via nvidia control panel.

I went through all the possible threads. I don't have these options in my Nvidia. I have included photos here. There is no option to enable Whispermode 2.0 on the given photos

As per instructions, download and install the nvidia drivers from this GEForce website.. You must also have the latest available graphics driver, because Whisper Mode requires GeForce 384.76 driver or later.

Hi, I downloaded the latest driver from the official Nvidia website. I did not download it from Acer support. I feel like Acer is blocking Whispermode 2.0. What was the factory installed operating system, if any?

Did you re-install the Acer-specific factory version from the hidden factory reset partition or the Microsoft generic version from the Microsoft site? They are NOT the same.

I reinstalled the system from the local version. My procedure was as follows:
Settings, Windows Update, Factory Reset, I selected install from local location.

So should I install by downloading windows?

No —- but only if the local location re-install seemed identical to and yielded the same setup results as when you first acquired the machine.

This means re-entering password from scratch, all the Acer-specific apps (CareCenter, NitroSense & QuickAccess) & offers were all re-installed as they were after the first time you turned on the machine.

This also means no updates were manually applied by you other than those that were offered or recommended by the installation software to complete the initial setup

I understand, but what is the solution then. I think it is not appropriate that after purchasing an Acer laptop I had to uninstall the system and install a clean Windows 11 in order to achieve functions that are normally supported in other brands. I don't know if it's safe to install a clean system, because I don't know if my laptop will boot properly after that. I don't know what drivers I should install.

A clean Acer factory install from the hidden factory system reset partition should automatically install all the proper Acer factory drivers, apps & options that are specific to your Acer proprietary mainboard. You start from scratch in exactly the same way you did the first time you turned it on and went through the Acer system setup routine.

After the factory reset it done, you then install the GeForce Experience software from this link . It includes the option to enable/disable Whisper Mode inside the GeForce Experience software. Again, it can be downloaded from this official GeForce website. Click on this link.

Once the GeForce Experience software is installed, open it. Click on the "gear icon" near its top menu. This opens “Settings”. Then go to “Games”. “Whisper Mode” option should be in the right pane. Click on slider "switch" to turn it on.

That's what I did when you first started your laptop. I downloaded GeForce from the official site. It didn't help, Whisper mode 2.0 didn't show up.
I uninstalled GeForce Experience and tried to download from Acer Official Site. After installing GeForce Experience from the Acer site, Whispermode 2.0 worked, but only until I restarted the laptop. After restarting the laptop Whisper mode 2.0 stopped working. It's very interesting why Whisper mode 2.0 doesn't work after the update. GeForce Experience automatically downloaded the update after restarting the laptop.

OK. Does the Acer version still work if you don't re-start?

When I download the GeForce version from the Acer site, this version starts and has the option to enable Whispermode 2.0. But two problems arise.
    First problem:
After restarting the laptop, GeForce will start with the new update - it cannot be interrupted. After the automatic update, Whispermode 2.0 cannot be enabled again.
    Second problem:
After installing Acer versions of GeForce Experience, the Nvidia Control Panel cannot be launched. (A message will appear: No monitor connected to GPU)

So it's quite a convoluted circle for Acer to sort out, honestly if I knew I'd buy a Legion from Lenovo where it works.

I will not reinstall the laptop, I will wait for an update from Acer, maybe someone will think of it and fix it. But it's a great shame, because I was really looking forward to this Notebook.

Please don't jump to conclusions. DO NOT RESTART the laptop with the Acer Experience version until we try a few things.

Open Control Panel. Search 'button'. Click 'change what the power buttons do'. Click 'change settings that are currently unavailable'. Scroll down and make sure the box for fast startup is UNchecked. Save settings.

Then search 'restore point' in Control Panel. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane. In the box that pops up, make sure SystemProtection is turned on. Save settings again.

WITHOUT RESTARTING THE LAPTOP YET, check to make sure WhisperMode still works with Acer Experience version after making these Control Panel changes.

    NOW RESTART THE LAPTOP.

If WhisperMode is again disabled by an automatic update, then open Control Panel. Search 'restore point' again. Click 'create a restore point' in the left pane again. Then click the SystemRestore button. Click 'next'. An automatic restore point should've been created by the update that's causing problems.

The update should be described as either an errant Windows update or an errant nvidia update. My guess it's a Windows update that can be reversed and blocked from installing again.

Thanks, I'll try this evening when I get home from work. I currently have the original GeForce Experience from the official GeForce website. I download GeForce from the Acer website. And I will carry out all the steps that you wrote for me. I will inform you, or create a video about the process.

I still found this video, I will try to do it according to this procedure. I will completely uninstall the NVIDIA driver.

Good luck. Many folks seem to think DDU is better than standard Windows uninstallers. Let us know.

Uninstalling with DDU didn't help. I'm busy today. I will do it over the weekend according to your procedure. I also wrote an email to Acer support in my country. We will see what they propose. I believe it needs to be fixed. I inform next.
