Hi, My device is over 2 yrs old and I am having issues with the screen/display where it flickers, mostly at the bottom only (lines across the screen/task bar area) and intermittently the whole screen will flicker/ blurr.

I have done powerwash/hard reset - which did improve the extent of the flicker/blurring slightly. The device has been checked for loose cables (not on the the screen though) and all are firmly intact.

Before I look into getting a new display, is there anything else I can do or should check please?

Does it happen when you are moving the screen slightly or when everything is stable? There is a cable that runs between the motherboard and display that gets flexed every time you open or close the laptop and it might be starting to fail. The cable is still the likely culprit if it fails without flexion, but then it's more likely to be corrosion building up on the connector.

It happens all the time, even when static/no movement at all.

Thank you for your advise, I'll get the cable checked and look into replacing it.

Just have the technician try cleaning the contacts on the cable, you can often do that by simply removing and replacing a few times, to see if it changes. If there is change then we can point more confidently at the cable connection.

Sadly no, it has been cleaned and there is no issue with the contacts so I need to get it sent back for assessment/repair :(
