I am at my wits end. I am trying to set up an additional screen for this laptop in my wifes craft studio to an Acer monitor (using an HDMI to Display Port cable). This laptop is the model with the GeForce 3050 GPU. I connect it to 2 different monitors (another Acer monitor and a ViewSonic monitor) and even a 50" Sony TV (using a different HDMI to HDMI cable from my Xbox), when I try to "Identify Displays", says no other monitors were detected every time. I've uninstalled GeForce Experience and reinstalled it, I've tried disabling and enabling the Integrated Graphics and the GeForce 3050 which also did not help. Please help.

So you get no signal both with the HDMI to DP and HDMI to HDMI cable? If it were only the first I'd have you verify the cable is HDMI to DP and not DP to HDMI (they are quite different). Since it's both it sound like the HDMI on the laptop isn't working. Try connecting the cable to the monitor and bringing the monitor fully up, then connect to the laptop and power it on. Use the display toggle key (F5 IIRC on yours) to make sure it's expecting both displays to be active, then the Windows P to select Extend. If that doesn't give you an image then we pretty much know it's hardware…
