Hello everyone! I have an Acer Nitro AN515-55 with it's original hard drive installed. I recently bought a new SSD to put in as a secondary hard drive, an HP SSD EX900 Plus M.2. As soon as I install in into the second slot, the computer won't boot and won't recognize either the primary or secondary drives in the BIOS. I took out the original HD and put the new one in the first spot, just to see, and it wont recognize it there, either. Is the hard drive incompatible with my laptop? I've tried looking that up, and I can't find anything one way or another, but maybe it's not? Or maybe the HD is just dead on arrival? Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

you can return it?
I got it from Amazon, so I'm assuming that won't be a problem! I just wanted to double check I wasn't missing anything before I did that.
This reads very confusing, you are mixing a 2.5" Sata mechanical HDD (HD?) with a M.2 PCIe Sata SSD?
Sorry for the confusion. No, I am not. I ended up returning the one I bought, got a different (but essentially the same) one, and it worked no problem. Guess the first one I bought was DOA? Thanks for any help though.
I would have tried changing the sata mode to ahci and updating the bios, before returning the hard drive. Sometimes the problem isn't the hard drive. But yes some compatibility issue with the motherboard.
