did you put the new memory in the same slots as the factory memory came in? if its crashing without XMP enabled then XMP won't help at all, only will make it worse, most that get corsair memory have issues, i went with crucial and i have no issues at all, im running 4x16@4800MHz.

yeah, it's all good and i must be deaf heh, ev1 complains about how loud the acer fans are and i don't hear it, they are not that loud, but mine does sit about 5 feet away from me on top of my 4x12 guitar cabinet with my monitor blocking my view of it, and i even have 3 more fans than it came with, 2 acer on the top rack and 2 cooler master mobius high velocity on the cooler, and there is really no way to adjust the fan curve also, ugh more bad news lol, i have been experimenting the last 2 months, when i game, i leave the front cover off and the side panel and it def makes my games run cooler, but i am in a basement with central air, its gets so cold down here, i have to put on sweatpants and a long sleeve shirt haha, but when my cpu is at 38 and gpu 48, it's well worth it heh, and i get no dust, i check that daily, so im very lucky down here, and yeah one of these days ill break down and put all the cables through the back and get it looking nice and neat lol.

i put it in the same slots because the innermost slot is blocked by the cpu cooler and i dont currently have thermal paste to use if i to decide to remove the cpu cooler to get the ram in.

yeah, go to the crucial website they have new pro ddr5 that says its compatible with our P05-640 desktops, they have a lot of variety, just run the system scanner like i did, when i bought mine i opted for the 4800 because we didn't have XMP unlocked, now we do, but i already overpaid for my 4 sticks, im not upgrading again lol, 4800@ 64 gigs smokes, so im happy, and since your new, you will need a better cooler, most of us have replaced the stock cooler, our 5000 series takes the Noctua NH-U12A and its outstanding, you can slip a ram stick in under the stock cooler i did it np, here is mine so you can see all the upgrades i did, like removing the HDD caddy and taking out the GPU bracket, both block a lot of air flow from the front 2x140mm fans, i also added 2x120mm to the top as exhaust, it all helps, then that's a cooler master bracket under the GPU and i also added a thermal right CPU correction plate on the CPU, gl and if ya need any more help just ask !!@!!

the cooler that my pc came with us really bad, prime 95 got it to EASILY reach 100 degrees Celsius and the ghz drops from 4.3 to 3.7. Getting a new cooler is probably the next thing I’ll do. I’ve been looking at the noctua NH D15

yeah, that won't fit in our case, and the NH-U12A is just as good if not better, and ya have to run your fans in gaming mode in predator sense to get max cooling no matter what ya use, look at my pics the NH-U12A almost touches the glass, so if ya went with the 15 series ya wouldn't be able to put the glass side panel on.

ah okay that’s very good to know, I was thinking of modifying the fan curve because gaming mode is loud even when I’m not gaming, it’s good to know that that fan wouldn’t fit. I like to keep my side panel off but I keep my pc on the floor (no room on desk) and I have cats so I’m not sure it would work permanently, I’ll def look into that other fan though

I didn’t even know you could take the front cover off lmao, I’ve returned the ram but I won’t order the crucial stuff until I get the refund, xmp profiles work with the crucial stuff right?

@Lylcaruis I'm sort of in the same boat as you and I'm going to order crucial ram either 4800mhz or the 5600mhz pro ones. I can let you know in a week or two how it turns out if you want to hold out for that.

I actually ordered and returned a pair of corsair vengeance 5600 after seeing this and some other posts. I am curious how the vengeance sticks worked out for you, was it essentially non functional?

yes, it works and runs great, i have 4x16, i bought them 1 at a time, so they are matched sticks, and yes, there is a single screw on the bottom, remove that then the cover will pop right off easily, i tried taking a screenshot of the BIOS but windows-print screen doesn't work for that haha, anyways good luck and keep me posted !!@!!

Is the new memory all that is installed, or do you also have the original memory in?

only the new memory in the same slots that the original memory used to be in, cant put it in the other slots because i would need to take the cpu cooler off and the new cooler wont be here till tomorrow

reboot your pc and keep hitting the del key until it takes you to the BIOS then it's in there in advanced settings-advanced-cpu and chipset config just move the XMP slider to enable, save and exit then reboot again and you're done !!@!!
