I updated to 2.11 BIOS and I am having issues with memory! I have V3-551-8469
I have many people that showed me their exact model working with 16 GB of RAM. However, they have BIOS version 2.02 and it works flawlessly.
I have Windows 8 working on it, with UEFI as well, exactly how they had it working out of the box.
However, I am in need of the 2.02 BIOS version for my model so that I can flash the BIOS back to that version.
With my RAM, I am using the stock 4GB. It works!
I put in an 8GB stick and it crashes! The Acer logo becomes corrupt and it hangs.
However, I put in the 8GB and 4GB stick and it works! However, sometimes, it would crash and reboot. I can see it has 12 GB so it is reading all of it. I have done MEMTEST on the 8GB and 4GB and it took a few hours and no errors at all.
So I am thinking it is something with the graphics card version inside the BIOS settings. I am really needing the 2.02 file so that I could do this! I am familiar with computer repair (done it ever since I was little) so I took all the steps to isolate the problem and I think the BIOS update messed it up!
This model supports 8GB only - however, I have seen many with the same model work. I have also seen many manfucaturers with the same APU work with 16GB of RAM. So it definitely works! I am not sure if my graphics card is looking for an address range to reserve the 512MB or what.
So is it possible to get the BIOS version from a tech on here?
Thanks!
Oh and basically all I need is someone with the same model and then backup the 2.02 BIOS with the BIOS backup tool and send me the ROM!
