Hi and thanks for reading;

Not too long ago my son stepped on the recharge plug where it’s inserted into the Chromebook port when the above Chromebook was plugged in and charging thus breaking it off on the inside.

I purchased both a new charger and replacement for the female adapter which goes inside the case. Installed them and it's still not responding. Checked the new charger with a multi meter and it’s fine.

This is kind of unique (at least to me) because the Chromebook was responding fine until the charge was lost which led me to believe it would have to be either the internal or external charging components.

Since everything was working fine while running off the charge wouldn’t that indicate that the motherboard, battery, and all else is fine? Now that the two must likely culprits have been replaced I’m kind of at a loss of which direction to go next.

Any input from the vets would be highly appreciated!

    You might have bought the wrong DC cable/port and adaptor, because and if the female side DC port broke and the adaptor plug broke replacing the DC port/cable and the adaptor with the correct parts, the laptop should charge the battery perfectly.

    Check if you bought the correct Acer part numbers for the DC cable/port and the adaptor/charger for your CB3-431-C7EX, otherwise there must be other components that shorted out like capacitors, filters or at worst a mosat inside the primary charging or power stages of the laptop that are stopping the charging of your laptop, so have those checked out also.
