My cpu is reaching 98c in test in performance mode in predator sense predator helios 16 PH16-171

Hi observed temps of 98c while testing the cpu using cinebench and its worries me it a brand new predator laptop with updated bios (PH16-171 model) everything is up to date.

That is nothing to worry about as your new Helios PH16-71 is designed for high temps like that and if its using a Cinebench benchmarking software and its momentary and not for long periods of time.

Thanks @StevenGen for letting me know really appreciate your response may I know what is H/W shutdown Trigger Since my cpu already 98 . Another question i have is how long can i play any game in performance mode reaching that high temperatures could it damage my cpu if i do so.

Your laptop is designed for high temps and whenever this laptop reaches critical temps your laptop will turn off, so there is no need to worry about these temps damaging anything H/W stands for hardware, which means that its the overall temps not just like your cpu or gpu that will trigger the laptop to turn off at 95C
