Hi, hope someone can help as im going out of my mind with this. Laptop is approx 6 years old. About 2 years ago it decide to not charge anymore, although works perfectly from the AC Adaptor. I get an Orange Light and Blue Light (both solid) to say that battery is fully charged. The battery icon in windows shows 0% available, and if i unplug the charger the laptop will switch off immediately. I have replaced the battery with a genuine one, but the problem is still there. Ive tried BIOS update, but you cannot do that if the battery is lower than 25%. Ive also deleted the windows drivers for the AC adaptor and the battery in windows device manager, but still no doughnut. I treat my possessions with the greatest of care, never been dropped or knocked, i used a static discharge lead when replacing the battery. Its a great laptop, and i really want to fix it.

The symptoms that your Aspire E17 E5-774-57RK laptop has are because its internal charging stage is faulty and/or its circuitries are shorted and/or need replacing. Be aware, that you need specialist micro soldering. a microscope and specialist diagnostic tools to fix this laptop.

Note: there is nothing that a user like you can do, this laptop needs to be diagnosed and fixed by an experienced technician and its appropriate Acer circuitries need to be changed so that the power charging stage of your laptop works again. Take your laptop to Acer service in your area or to an experienced technician that can and does repair PC or laptops.
