If your Acer R240HY monitor is flashing colors in a pattern, it could indicate a few potential issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Check the cable connections: Ensure that the cables connecting the monitor to your computer or video source are securely plugged in. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the cables to ensure a proper connection.
    2. Test with a different cable: Sometimes, a faulty or damaged cable can cause display issues. If possible, try using a different cable (e.g., HDMI, DVI, VGA) to connect your monitor and see if the flashing pattern persists.
    3. Verify power supply: Confirm that the monitor is receiving stable power. Check the power cable connections and ensure the power outlet is working correctly. You can try plugging the monitor into a different power outlet or using a different power cable.
    4. Adjust monitor settings: Access the on-screen display (OSD) menu of the monitor and check if any settings might be causing the issue. Look for options related to color, display modes, or factory reset. Try resetting the monitor to its default settings and see if that resolves the flashing pattern.
    5. Test on a different device: Connect the monitor to a different computer or video source to determine if the issue is specific to the monitor or the connected device. If the flashing pattern persists on multiple devices, it suggests a problem with the monitor itself.
    6. Contact support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Acer's customer support or a qualified technician for further assistance. They can provide specific troubleshooting advice or recommend repair options if necessary.

Remember to refer to the user manual or support resources provided by Acer for detailed instructions on troubleshooting your specific monitor model.

It could be Office that needs to be repaired, what MSWord version do you have, is it x64 or x32? If x32 you need to run it in W7 Compatibility mode. If you have Office 365 reset or repair it in Programs and apps, click on the ….. after Office365.

Try this procedure to get in and out of factory mode:

    • Turn off the Acer monitor and disconnect it from the computer or any other device.
    • Locate the control buttons on the monitor. They are usually placed on the front or bottom edge of the monitor.
    • Press and hold the "Menu" button on the monitor's control panel.
    • While holding the "Menu" button, turn on the monitor by pressing the power button. Keep holding the "Menu" button.
    • Continue to hold the "Menu" button until the monitor enters the factory mode. This process may vary depending on the model, but it typically involves seeing a menu or message on the screen.
    • Once you are in the factory mode, you can navigate through the options using the other buttons on the control panel. The specific options available in the factory mode will depend on the monitor model.
