My Orion Predator 3000 po3-640-ua91 won't boot.(No Lights No power,) Psu issue. Need replacement

My Orion Predator 3000 po3-640-ua91 ceased function after about 2 weeks of use.

no power no lights no bios no usb devices.

can't return or do warranty.

I opened the PSU myself and found that one of the MOSFET chips inside of the CHICORY PSU had split itself open.

all other parts seem fine on visual inspection.

I also found that the PSU was only rated for 500W when my 3070 requires at a minimum of 660 watts.

This stems from an actual building error since this is how my Pc arrived to me as, i have put no after-market parts into the pc except for a RAM upgrade.

My question is does anyone know of an aftermarket source for a 12VO PSU that matches the pinout on the motherboard that i can swap the broken one with.

The pin out for this specific motherboard is from what i know.

12V 2 4pin for the cpu
12 V 14 pin (6x8) for the Gpu
12 V 6 pin (But 1 of the conductors are missing)

But if someone can actually find the pin out chart for that motherboard that would be helpful.

I don't have a lot of money and had been saving up for this for years. i just need something that would work and be somewhat reliable.

The PSU on your model is an ATX12VO and 500W is correct with the 3070 installed. all the power connections are +12V/Gnd pairs except that six pin, where the odd pin is the PS_On signal. The missing pin, when installed, is jut a return status on the PS_On. Why can't you have it repaired under warranty? At two weeks you should either be able to return it to the vendor for a swap (fastest) or send it to Acer for repair. Here are the pinouts for the motherboard power connections:

I have not seen a ATX12VO supply anywhere larger than 500W, but the 3070 models Acer ships work just fine with the 500W supplies. Remember there's no wasted power on other voltages, so the whole 500W is available.

    i need a replacement PSU

My warranty was voided when i sent it in for repairs and they wouldn't send me the part to fix it myself without paying. and its from newegg and past the return point.

Thank you for the pin outs that is useful.

are you aware of any other atx12VO psus out there that match. that are above NVIDIA minimum recommendation? (660W+)

Thanks i was just upset really.

yeah it should be alright honestly only things really drawing power would be the cpu itself and the gpu so it should be fine.

Im looking into just using a modular power supply and giving the power directly to my card and the harddrives and just powering the 2x4 cpu ports.

if that fails then i will have to find or make a 6 pin molex connector for the additional power since im not sure if there is a standard 6 pin that fits that pinout and wont cause problems. i feel like Pci-e would work but im not sure

Yes, if you hadn't opened up the PSU it should have still been in warranty and they would have replaced it when you sent the system back for repair. There have been third hand results with people taking a big supply and rewiring to match the 12V needs of the motherboard, but I haven't heard specifically from anyone who has actually done it themselves. It should work, but you can always just purchase one of the stock supplies. As long as you aren't running anything over the 3070, a full compliment of drives and all four memory slots populated you will be fine with the stock supply. You really only need bigger if you replace the 3070 with a GPU with higher needs.
