Hello,

this is my first time posting here.

I currently trying to repair my mother's Spin 3 laptop. It had stopped booting into windows. The laptop is showing the Acer logo but minutes later is goes to a black screen.

We have gone to the Boot Menu to try any settings there but most of them required password for anything, same as going to the command prompt. My mother does not remember the password.

We have a suspicion that the windows 10 OS is corrupted at some point Is there any possible way to restore windows 10?

we tried booting the hard drive onto another computer and it was not booting windows as well.

It sounds as if the drive has either failed or the data on it is corrupted. IIRC the 757C SKU has a 1TB HDD in it and no SSD. The first step will be to use a Windows 10 install flash drive to try and rebuild the EFI partition. You don't really want to do that from the onboard diagnostics and repair options because you would be likely to replace the corrupted data with the same corruption. Boot from the flash drive, choose the repair option then command prompt and follow one of the online guides from there. That should get you past the delay after POST and get it trying to load Windows at least. If Windows doesn't load from there you can use the install flash drive to do an SFC scan and a DISM recovery. That will rebuild Windows on the drive without losing any of her data. If that doesn't work then likely the drive is in failure and a replacement is going to be needed. I'd choose a SATA SSD in the M.2 2280 form factor as a replacement, it will be somewhat similar to the cost of a SATA 2.5" SSD and potentially more reliable. I don't believe that model supports an NVMe drive, so you can't go with those faster options.
