I recently took the front cover off my Orion 7000 P07-640 to de dust the system and I must have snapped the momentary switch off of the power button board.
Acer won't warranty the part and their third part parts provider wants to sell the 1" square board for $60.
I can't find anything on the part numbers listed on the board, can anyone point me to where I can find a replacement third party?
[Edited the thread to add issue detail]
here is a picture of the board, the switch is a 6x6x8.5 as far as I can tell while measuring it.
I wonder if the 6x6x5 one from this set would work?
Have you tried to solder this connector on the corresponding terminals, with tin and soldering iron?
I believe the issue is the actual button portion has broken off the switch. The switch is fairly standard, surface mount momentary in the 6x6mm package.
I could solder a 6x6x8.5 onto the board as a replacement.
I was hoping I could just find the board and not have to do the extra work
Heheh, I keep copying your "P07-640" (Predator Zero) from the first post and having my searches fail because it's a "PO7-640" (Predator Orion)… I wish they'd change the font in this section to have a difference between zero and O.
Acer doesn't sell the board separately:
It's only included in the assembly, which is why I was suggesting replacing only the switch.
