Hello, I have a problem with my few months old Acer Spin 5 (SP513-55N). The charging with USB-C cable suddenly stopped working, thankfully I can still use a different charger. The charger itself is not the problem because my boyfriend can use it to charge his laptop without issues. I don't really know what to do anymore, I tried various things I found on the internet, including draining the battery, updating and reinstalling drivers and so on and so far I didn't have a positive result. The USB-C ports also don't work when I connect a monitor or some other device to it, if I connect a phone, the phone charges but I the laptop doesn't recognize the phone is connected. Since I've had this laptop since last year I am really disappointed that such a big issue appeared after such a short time. My boyfriend who's had Acer Spin 3 for two years doesn't face such issues… If anyone had the same problem and solve it or has any ideas, please, let me know.

The Spin 3 does not have Thunderbolt 4 like you have. Bring/send the laptop back to the retailer and include your USB charger as it may not be powerful enough to charge the Swift5. Your phone not being detected is a software issue.

It's the charger which came with the Spin 5 so it definitely should be (and it was back when my usb-c still worked) powerful enough and I don't see how that could change so suddenly. The charger I'm using now actually came with Spin 3 but doesn't have usb-c. Anyway, unless there are other ideas, I'll have to bring the laptop to the retailer eventually I guess. Thank you for your advice!

It sure sounds as if something has zapped the port. Spec on the port is:

And it sounds like the next to the last line is working, but any of the data connections or the DC-In is not. It also sounds like you are still in warranty, so go ahead and contact Acer support to get a ticket started.
