I have an Aspire A515-47, and the battery charger limit is set to 80%, and I want to turn it off. The option is not available in Care Center (it used to be), there is no option for it in the Bios and when I try Software & manuals on the web page for the model, it just sits there with the balls spinning for hours on end. Any suggestions please.

Do not use the battery limiter in Acer Care Center as it interferes with BIOS stats and Microsoft ACPI Battery control, most of us have ACC uninstalled or disabled. Do not buy into this "Battery longevity" theory promoted by bloatware as this has not been tested, 100% anecdotal. Lithium Ion batteries have a Smart chip inside and are not affected by charge Memory issues like the older Nickel Cadmium batteries. It is perfectly safe to charge your battery to 100% and leave your power adapter plugged in 24/7.

I have been doing that for 4 years with my a515-65G and observed a battery wear of <10%/year, it will probably outlive my power adapter (and laptop😀).

I am not aware of any battery limit options in Widows11 Power Plan, you can set it to turn off the laptop at a minimum charge but not stop the charging at 80%. You must have some bloatware running at the background doing this or maybe you did not uninstall ACC properly and it is still active (at the background). Reset your Power Plan to default and select Balanced. Check Task Manager what apps are running, disable Startup apps in the Startup Tab.

Thanks @Puraw thats one concern put to bed, but do you have any idea on how to turn it off now that it is on, as I can't find any way to disable is at all. Very annoying when you want to run on battery only and the start point is 80%.

I was still editing my reply when you already commented, I am a bit slow🤨

Yes, reset you power plan don't use Acer's custom Power Plan as that hides an lot of options and may use that ACC battery limiter code even when uninstalled.

If Reset is not available in your current Power Plan paste this in the command line:

    powercfg -restoredefaultschemes

Read this tutorial to learn more about Power Plan in Windows11:

All sorted now @Puraw , unistalled ACC, then restarted, charging just started charging past 80%.
