Nitro N50-640 PSU upgrade, Please share your suggestions

Hello!

My husband got an RTX3070 as a gift for his birthday and I need to upgrade the power supply in his N50-640 for him to use it without issues (he's getting random black screens for a few seconds when gaming).

I've done a bunch of digging and have discovered that:

The motherboard has an 8pin (4+4) 12v line
The proprietary 6pin ATX computer cable.
All the post relating to this (or the N50-620) say that the PSU connections are proprietary and not easily replaced.

Looking online I can't seem to find any PSU that are 650+ with this combination. Posts on here mention getting an OEM PSU but I can't find anything over the 500w that came with the machine. Two posts mention using a 24pin to 6pin adapter to get around this issue. However, none of the post say for sure which PSU/Adapter combination would work. Quick online searches just show a few adapters made specifically for a dell or HP machine.

Anyone able to shed some light on a solution? Or should we just return the gifted card?

Your husband needs to get a new modular 750W PSU for the RTX3070 (as the new modular PSUs can be setup with only the required cables that you need) into the N50-640 desktop limited case space, as the N50-640's come oem with either a 300W or 500W PSU power that is not adequate enough to power the RTX3070 gpu.

The N50-640 has an 8-pin mainboard and your husband needs to get an COMeap 24 Pin to 8 Pin ATX PSU Power Adapter Cable. You can purchase these cables on Amazon and ebay. These cables are designed to convert a standard 24-pin ATX power supply to an 8-pin DELL motherboard power supply. Good luck and hope this helps you out
