I have an acer nitro 5 model AN515-57-584Y and I'm gonna replace the ram soon. Can I do that without disconnecting the battery?

    Not recommended, you may lose data if you use Fast Startup (Power Plan) and cause a short breaking the motherboard ($300-$500): Unplug your adapter, completely shutdown (no sleep, no hibernate and no Fast Startup), open the laptop and disconnect the battery cable to the MOBO carefully, the connector may be tight, only wiggle the cable plug with your finger nails. Push the Power button for a minute to discharge any residual/static charge. Insert the DDR module(s) fully seated, lock the modules properly with the spring bracket till you hear a click and reconnect the battery cable.
