I got this laptop, February 19 2023, it was a great buy at first as it can handle the games with demanding requirements, I even bought a gaming keyboard as to not wore out the keyboard when gaming. Long story short I was careful on the device as it's one of the biggest buys I've made when it comes to gadgets. Unfortunately with normal opening and closing of the lid, the plastic part covering the left hinge started to make a clicking sound as it sounded normal when opening the lid i just ignored it, then one day it finally snapped and cracked, this is with careful lifting of the lid right at the center to ensure that there are no extra pressure on the hinges when opening and closing the lid. For the price point, it's unfair for the plastic materials to be this weak, I undestand that the device get hot specially when gaming and I always make sure to let the device cool down prior to closing the lid I even bought a cooling pad to ensure that the device get's enough ventilation when gaming. 3 months old laptop and the hinge started to give away technically not the hinge but the plastic part covering the hinge, I'm not sure if this is worth the repair specially if the part that was broken will be replaced with the same weak part. Unfortunately, Acer's warranty clearly states "Warranty will be deemed void if a product has been damaged or rendered defective as a result of: 9. Units physically damaged due to accidental drops, spills and extreme temperature, and such damages that are noticeably viewable (examples include but are not limited to, scratches, imprint/water marks, cracks, dents, and insect infestation). I understand that I most likely would be paying for the repair cost, question is, is it worth it if the same material will be used?
